Must be 'catch up' day.......

I have actually been knitting......but mostly I have been 'finishing up'...finally the Red Riding Hoods are all ready to be wrapped!  After all there were only 5.......we won't count the extra one that was made...it was a tad bit small.....but someone will come along that it will fit perfectly. I tried to find different shades of red for each......but in the middle of June.....there isn't much Christmasy red out there........and of course I added the large button that says "GramMa Alice" at the neck!

I also finally found 5 different fairy tale books with the Red Riding Hood story inside......you wouldn't think that would be so hard.  'Red' isn't as popular as she once was....

While looking around I found a few UFOs... this little pink sweater that had been patiently waiting for a button closure.  I added a large snap under to hold the neckline together......do this on baby things so the button holes don't get stretched out of shape.....

Now for the latest knitting.......We  have a NEW Great Grand Son on the way so GramMa had to get a blanket ready.......this was a fast knit......really!  Garter and Stockenette squares are really fast...
I found this Peacock Red Heart Love yarn and knew it was just the ticket.........only took 2 1/2 skeins..so have enough to make up another to have 'in holding' for the next family addition......

And since Journey (9 year old going on 16) has joined the tumblers........she really needed leg warmers.....seems blue was the suggested color!  I found a Hobby Lobby brand......Yarn Bee Fetching......it has just a bit of glittery bling to it..........

I am still coming across a few UFOs that just needed that little bit done.........one is a scarf that I knitted up last year about this time......it is next on the list.......

Not quiet knitting.....

I know it isn't knitting.......but it was something that a two year old really needed for her Birthday.  Jase has had an Adventure Vest for sometime and it seems everytime that Lilly spied it not being worn..........well.........she needed one of her own.  Yesterday was her second birthday and this seemed just the thing to gift her with...........
It is just a bit big for now.......but  should fit for quiet some time.........

Christmas is coming....

With so many little ones in the family (13 Grands and 4+Greats) you really need to start gathering for Christmas a little early.
This year I have been knitting for all the youngest ones.....notice I say 'knitting' not 'finishing'
But since the days are getting shorter I decided I need to get busy with this......so last night I finished up this one.
I found these cute story books and knew that the only (for now) Great GrandSon just needed to have them.....so what do to put with them??? Why not a hat!
I used the pattern from Knitty.com
Dead or Alive Fish Hat  Then just added spots and stripes to make my version of the Pout Pout Fish.

Ponchos

When the youngest GrandDaughters don't care for sleeves.....you knit Ponchos!

I stumbled across these varigates and had to see how they would knit up.....so Ponchos it was. The colors 'pooled' a bit more in the hats then fell in strips in the ponchos.

What to do....only so many hours in the day......

My hubby has said it so many times........"Again?".......but then he really doesn't complain when wearing any of the results......

I need a place to park my knitting and somewhere to remember what has been in my knitting life.......so here we go.......

This is called Strips and Stripes.......one section knitted in your choice of stripes then joined with another section knitted in a different direction.......just fun!  And probably one that I will be keeping for myself.

I am always doing 'testing' for different designers......I just finished up this cute little hat......
Hubby even asked if I could make one for him in blues for the Blue Santa Golf Tourney this year.......

I need to go through my pictures and will be posting more of  my things here soon.
So until then.........Happy Knitting!
