Way too long......

Way too long in between posting.......let's blame it on the Doctors.  This year we have......
....gone through scare of Lung Cancer ...Richard
....survived Bladder Cancer ...Richard
....had Carpal Tunnel surgery ...Richard
....Cataract surgery twice ...Richard
....knee problems since falling down three silly steps last Christmas (note to those interested....do not do this in front of family)
....pre-Cancer Hysterectomy ....Me

But one good thing about sitting in waiting rooms is you have plenty of time to knit.....although I would highly recommend you find other ways to enjoy knitting.

Christmas has come and gone........This year the little gals got hats, scarves and fingerless mitts from GramMa.....
Journey
Julianna
Addyson

Lilly

These belong to Olivia and Jocelyn

Jasen got fingerless mitts to match up to a hat that he personally requested.......
He told me not to worry......"It fits perfectly"
just needed adjusting.....
PopPa D was at work as well.....he made doll cradles for Lilly and Addyson and a hat rack for Jasen.  Then 'the Kid' requested a step stool (really for Addyson)
I got to play around and painted dandelions on it.

I also did just one little bit of sewing.......Jasen is a HUGE fan of the Wild Kratts.......of course I had to set through several showings of the cartoon to truly understand how and what they were......results were this.......
The pocket in the front is for the "Power Disks"......He also got a messenger type bag with a dinosaur on the front to hold all his Wild Kratts things...

I do think that Christmas at the Imholte's was very Merry Merry!

I started a blanket when Richard was told there was a small tumor in his bladder......Cranberry got me though this......
Simple basket weave pattern that just grew into a large baby blanket.  I used 3 skeins of I Love This Yarn with a size 10.5 needle for the softest fabric that still held the pattern well.

Recently I had stumbled across a designer Julie Williams of Little Cotton Rabbits and fell in love with her designs.

Addyson was showing me how the elephant sounds and I found the sweetest pattern by this designer that I knew I had to knit for her........besides GramMa Alice has been lacking in knitting the 'little things' for my youngest GrandDaughter.....shame on GramMa..........
I finished this sweet little thing up last night.  I used worsted instead of the lighter weight suggested and our little elphant came out to about 10 inches tall........fun to knit and I am thinking I may need to knit another just to have here at GramMa's!

ps....tumor was removed and Richard is now Cancer free!  We are very blessed.

This could become a habit........

I just finished up a quick test and before I forget to come and post about it.........
It is called Tiny Brick Road.  When I first saw it the patterning at the neck and shoulders made me think of a sunflower.  I may have to knit another and attempt getting the sunflower look in the bodice.....maybe a brown neckline with the bodice in yellow and body/sleeves in a contrast color?  Maybe.........

Opps.......

I meant to add the pictures I got of a few of my little gals wearing the Red Riding Hood Capes I made at Christmas.......
...wonder why Julianna turned up sideways?....
.....Addyson in her's.....
....and Olivia and Jocelyn under the tree.....

Done it again.......

I have managed to lag behind in the updates......Oh well......let's catch up!

I had the chance to join up in a KAL on Ravelry .....and this is what I made.....

The pattern is called Hiya Hiya Waves......a really interesting cabling pattern.  I used True Blue by Elle......it is a Indigo died Cotton......I threw it into the washer 3 times with a load of jeans to start the fading......and this is what came about.....
...a nice soft fading......The scarf is a bit stiff yet but I expect it to soften up over time just like your favorite pair of jeans..

I was fortunate to help with the testing of a sweet little girl sweater........Daisy Stitch Cardigan.......
I used my favorite "go-to" yarn......I Love This Yarn in Iced Violet and Lavender Smoke.  I learned a new stitch! And love the results.

I have a few things on the needles.........a couple of baby blankets that are more for 'carry along knitting'.......and eventually they will be finished.

I made another of the cowls from the Shades of Beige pattern I talked about earlier....this pattern was/is addictive!

and this one modeled by 'Someone' that may become a favorite model here......

I found a new colorway in the I Love This Yarn that is calling me to try this pattern with......YIKES!  This one is really addictive!

 .......and check out the merchandise.

When you see what I am talking about you too will want to follow her on her blog to see what is coming up next!

Long time....

You start a  new blog to be able to keep up with things better........well.......looks like that didn't happen.  So let's try a catch up once more......

I have been knitting......really......mostly little test knits but that is knitting!

One thing done was the Chess Hat......fun knit and I do believe there is a scarf pattern out there to match up with now.......

Then there was the Shooting Star.  This one was snagged by my Sea Bee right off.....

I do testing for Cutie Pie Designs......one of her newest is called Sunflower Poncho.  I worked up the Poncho and had plenty of yarn left over so a hat was needed to match up!

Christmas knitting was done......remember those Red Riding Hood Capes.....well my Journey didn't get something knitted from GramMa so that had to be fixed!  I came across this little sweater that just needed a few adjustments to fit my beautiful GrandDaughter that is growing up way too fast......
I can't think of the name of the pattern......the yarn was what caught my attention and made me think of Journey...it is Hobby Lobby's Yarn Bee Enchantress....the tiny sparkels just makes her shine more.

And lastly.....a new to me designer came out with THE BEST ....it is a cowl called Shades of Beige. I made one for the test........
I just finished knitting and it went home with my DIL........
so..........I knitted another........
........this one was snagged by my SIL that was visiting from Minnesota......
....it left so fast I didn't even get time to snap a picture!

.....nothing to do but knit one more.......
Haven't had anyone stop by so this may just stay with me......although just to be safe I have started #4....in the same yarn as what the SIL nabbed.  I will get a picture when it is finished....maybe.........
